Unzip the downloaded file anywhere, for example on your desktop.
Open the Oblivion folder.
Run oblivion_dxx.exe.
If it does not start or the screen stays black, run oblivion_gl.exe instead.

2. Windows says "Windows protected your PC"
This shows up for new programs that Windows does not know yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. Only do this for files you downloaded from this website.
3. The game lags or stutters
Try the other version: if you play with oblivion_dxx.exe, try oblivion_gl.exe, or the other way round. Each one works better on different graphics cards.
4. The client will not start or closes right away
Keep all files from the ZIP together in the same folder.
Do not unzip data.zip: the client reads it as it is.
If your antivirus moved a file away, restore it, add the Oblivion folder as an exception and download the client again.
5. I cannot log in
Log in with your account number, not a character name.
Check that the server is online in the Server Status box.
